Ya. A few. I have a quite a few. These.
    1. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\map_source\mp_villa_harbor.map" 0 3877 -24.282 3489.94 -100.019 -0.569889 0.000486804 0.821722 "Lightmap coordinates are degenerate; try the LMAP or NATURAL buttons in the surface dialog." These I can fix easy and I'm doing that now.
    2. "sboat.map" 0 13 15.6216 -51.9895 282.633 -0.98472 0.174143 -2.78646e-007 "Texture repeats too many times." But that's no biggy I get those a lot.
    3. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\map_source\mp_villa_harbor.map" 0 13770 774.163 -2152.58 -57.0715 1 0 0 "portal has the same cell on both sides, portal ignored"

Which brings me to this question. Below is a picture of a structure box. To the left next to it is how the portal should be put inside the structure. Portal side facing out and portal no draw facing in. Is
the error above referring to the sides of the portal showing portal no draw or should they be like the ones on the right where the out side skins only show the portal texture and the sides caulk?

    4. "myprefabs/ust_ship3.map" 0 139 -337.046 -160.317 160.759 1.19249e-008 1 0 "surface 'me_decal_darkstain_01' is partially floating or needs to be aligned" I get those a lot too. Still no biggy
to what I read on errors.
That about it as far as errors go.

there should be no caulk on a portal brush, portal on a face to block the hole, inside or out shouldnt matter although for a building i usually do the outside., the rest should be portal no draw.
the error means that the portal cell (area) infront of the brush and the portal cell behind the brush are one in the same, so it means one area is not correctly sealed off from the other.

Ya. I thought I was doing the right way. Just gonna have to go through each building and check for leaks. Time to get the plumbers pants on. Don't look girls, butt crack ahoy.
I did get the Lightmap coordinates are degenerate fixed. All the custom benches I made from terrain patches where messed up. Gonna have to build some new ones.

    Tanks Guys.

When running map from compile tool, tick the Enable Developer box.
    Compile map, etc etc etc

    Run map

In game, open console and type :

    /r_showportal 1
Your portals pop up now and you can easily see if a portal works or not.

You might know about this command, I just thought it might be worth mentioning.

Ok. Now this is weird. While I'm going through fixing the leaks in the building, I compile it and now just before the map starts running at the
    loadscreen this error pops up.
    ERROR
Attempted to overrun string in call to VA[]
    EXIT
and when I click exit the screen just stays black. I have to hit the windows key and close it from the toolbar icon. Any idea's what this relates to?
I can copy the FF files in zone source/english and paste them the usermap folder and the game boots up fine in the game mode.

That is weird- doesnt seem like an error related to portaling- to help troubleshoot it, I would make a new layer of just your portals, set it to no compile and then try compiling again (that way it acts as if the portals were not there at all and youll be able to see if the error still comes up..which will mean it doesnt have anything to do with them)

Thats one way to narrow it down- or at least make sure its not the portals stopping the map from compiling

Maybe you have something set wrong in your own server when running - Found this

DoSva() is a function of the Quake 3 engine used to quickly build strings
using snprintf and a static destination buffer.
If the generated string is longer than the available buffer the server
shows an "Attempted to overrun string in call to va()" error and
    terminates.
From Call of Duty 2 (and consequently CoD4) the size of this buffer has
been reduced from the original 32000 bytes to only 1024 causing many
    problems to the admins,
So in CoD4 an attacker which has joined the server can exploit this
vulnerability through the sending of a command longer than 1024 bytes
causing the immediate termination of the server.
