Well here is one WIP that I have been working/screwing around on/with lol for several months. I am trying some alpha blending on the roadway, there is smoke coming from
a chimmney or two, breakable glass, moving ceiling fans, opening steel gates and wooden doors, some outhouses with a surprise or two lol. It is a map that I believe at this
point will be called mp_df_crossroads, check out the pictures and tell me what you think!
It is with great sadness that our admin =103=Slugbuster passed away a couple of days ago fighting lukemia for the last three years. known as colin lansley he was well known within the cod community ever since cod started s-k clan s-v clan and L-S clan and the =103= clan people who knew him are very upset and will sorely miss his friendship and positive attitude. since the demise of the openwarfare mod forums there has been a big spot missing for cod4 development
so i revived an old project that i started and abandoned a while back
I've been mapping for oh maybe 2 years right, well one day several months ago I hit and ran the converter button by mistake which SCREWED every map I ever touched because I do not keep the gdt's for all the custom textures -------> BAD MOVE lol, now without looking and counting I would say 17 maps however only 5 or 6 I think are my own maps and 1 has recently been deleted from the count and replaced at this site with a newer version. Actually 4 out of maybe 17 maps are ok and the rest, man I really messed up I was tired and trying to finish a map after a long week and that's when it happened, by the time I hit the cancel button I was already screwed. So very soon I will upload all the new versions and give you the links on this tread to download the new ones if you want them. They are all final versions and even being deleted off my computer due to someone hacking my modtools program, hard to believe I know. I was wondering is COD4 finally dead. My servers list show only a few people playing in search and destroy games. Our own server is now hardly used and we can't really justify keeping it going.

modifed the mp smoke nade fx to help lessen the impact of those that have nvidia cards and use that ambient occlusion ... as more and more often it seems to be used as a 'cheat' ...
All I did was edit the stock effect so the smoke is pretty solid black... so there is no more contrast in the smoke that let's you see through it...
Not the perfect solution, but it will help stop those that use it from having an unfair advantage.

Hey Capt. Great to see the site back up!! I felt lost for so long . . . lol Anyways, looking to get back into the mapping scene kinda full time. Have been working on some side projects along the way, but looking to team up with a few mappers to work on some co-op projects. Looking for experienced mappers, not that novice is bad just don't feel like teaching as we go along. I am looking into hosting a VDS to map test with an FTP to share files. I already have a TS3 server for convos and mapping. I also stream my mapping at www.twitch.tv/dirkdangles which helps in the process. Side note - I have a guy that is a coder very interested in WAW and writing some interesting mods for it. I run a FreezeTag mod that he has written. His name is AbneyPark and had a hand in the OW mod with the snipers. Cheers

Anyone remember the fix to get weapontype\projectile to detect headshots in eXtreme X4? I am running long rang sniper maps and see X4 is not detecting headshots & awarding extra bonus points for them.
I really love CoD2 and CoD4, and that is why I am going to spend a total of €20-€120 on prizes for the best CoD2 and CoD4 Map makers)

It's possible to combine a PeZbot mod with other weapon mod. I search a mod look like demon mod, do you know a mod with all new weapons from black ops or mw2 or mw3 with Pezbot ?

hi, im having trouble uploading the new map to your website the map is 35 megs but the when i push the upload it says 355 mb 100% complete any ideas guys.
So far I have had 2 people say that while playing bodiam & hellhole using the TDM gametype, they are spawning on top of one another and it becomes of course a spawn fest.
I have NO idea how this is possible, the axis and allies spawns are on seperate sides of the bloody map!
I test every map and I spawn accordingly to the side(s) I am testing.
I make every map set-up the same as far as how many spawns, gametypes etc...
As I have mentioned to these guys we run all 5 maps on 4 different mods and have no problems!
Anyone have any ideas of wth is going on? Is it the mod or is it the map?

Quick question! I know about entering /g_gametype and then sab, dom, yadda yadda..... ok heres the question, what command do you enter for Headquarters? I've tried hq, HQ, Headquarters, headquarters and none of these work it goes to FFA everytime... I followed wiki's instructions on making the game type....using a trigger_multiple, key=targetname value=radiotrigger and placing the hq_obj w/e.map in the multi/trigger.... I did 7 of these....
Is there something I'm not doing? because I did the only 2 things they said had to be done for HQ....
