    Here's a brief walk through on how to set up custom maps on your server. The info is mostly compiled from several other posts that can be found on this site with a little editing by me. All the info is for COD4, but the procedure is exactly the same for World at War as well. First off you have to run your custom map server as a modded server so that the clients can download your maps and files. Here's a brief tutorial on how to set up a modded server. How to set up a modded server 1. Create a new folder in the COD4 'mods' folder (next to 'ModWarfare'). You can call it what you like. For illustration purposes, I will call mine 'demommod'. The entire path should look something like this: This is your fs_game mods/folder. Remember to keep everything in lower case, as it avoids several quirks about the root path to fs_game.

    This was posted by one of our members and thought it should be posted here to help others out. Multiple map rotation ini With a little time up front, it fairly easy to set this up. The most reliable in the long run is to make copies of you server.cfg. Say for instance you play ffa regularly but you want to switch to a few maps of tdm with only one rcon command. This is assuming you are running a stock server, some mods get a bit more complicated but the principle is the same.

    After spending some time at CODUtility I decided to bring some custom COD4 maps to a Lan Party my Uncle was having. I thought I would share my findings with the community. First, I would like to give credit where credit is due. I searched about a dozen sites on the internet without finding anything very useful. The place that had the most complete information was Open Warfare. Specifically this post: Setting up a local redirect HTTP server for LAN. When hosting a custom map you need to run a MOD. COD4 comes with MODWarfare and what I can tell from my research, it can be flaky. The good news, however, is that there are plenty of great mods out there to choose from. My initial testing was done with Demon MOD. I thought it was going to be a simple MOD that allowed perks/weapons to be changed in game. I was amazed at how many other configuration options it has. The next MOD I will be trying out is the Modern Paintball MOD. For COD4 the Mods go inside...

    Hey all im running a cod4 server with the open warfare mod, Im trying to edit the clanlogo.iwi image that is inside the z_operwafare.iwd folder........... Cant seem to find a program that will open the iwi file. Any Ideas

    How do you change the time limit on the maps from 30 Minutes to 15 In Freeforall.cfg is set // Time limit for each round. Round will finish once the time limit is reached. set scr_dm_timelimit "15"

  5. unable to enable capture the flag

    Hi we are running the extreme rc5 mod and it doesnt seem to enable capture the flag even though it's suppose to support it. Has any one any ideas of what is needed for this maybe a script or something within the cfg's. As i have tried all the cfgs its seems something else maybe needed. Many thanks for any help or input.

  7. CoD4 eXtreme X4 Sniper Map teams.gsc Needed

    I decided to go back to eXtreme X4 because I could not get OW to work with XLRSTATS v3. eXtreme+ works perfectly. The problem is we run no-cross maps and we spawn on the same side. I remember years ago there was an updated teams.gsc floating around that fixed this problem. Anyone remember or have one? Thanks!

    hi i have just done a remake of muy map ruin called mp_103_stormy_sniper_ruin it runs from the cod compiler tools and itruns on my own server but when i try to run it from the game online server it just wont allow people to download ????????? is it possibly because of a map clashing with it maybe one of the maps that may be similar to mine in the map rotation. etc mp_103_ruin perhaps.

    This probably isn't and shouldn't be done i am not sure, but i noticed when i extract a ff file there are .menu files inside the ui folder how do you open the .menu files if at all possible.

  10. new font layout for mod

    i have spoken with brodie about changing fonts in our mod for the menu the file in question is the gamefonts_pc iwi it looks like pain stakingly painfull work but there must be overlays that you can get or an easier alternative. so i thought to ask on here to see if anybody is in the know how, about these things and where you can get a library of these from please.

    hi we are running the extreme rc5 mod the map terminal appears to work for the opfor and not the american side. it does not appear that we don't have a fixed teams.gsc file how would we go about that and is it in our mod. i have found a team .gsc file in map mp folder on the server but not a fixed team.gsc.

  13. Spawn points on non cross over snipe maps

    Hi all Recently Ive been putting some non cross over snipe maps on our server, 103_fishing for example. However we have found that all players tend to spawn in the same place and on the same side. There have been a few other maps where we spawn on the same side. But then there are other maps that Ive put on where this does not happen :rolleyes: Does anyone know if there is a simple fix for this ? or do you need to be running a snipe only Mod ? We are running the OW2 1.3 mod on our server. Someone has mentioned in the past a iw3 or config file you can put on which forces the spawn points to be either side.   17. Adjusting helicopter damage

    Hi all, I was wandering please, if anyone could tell me how to make the helicopter less vulnerable to bullets from the guns as it seems to be shot down with just two bullets from our guns in our mod.We run the extreme_rc mod i run the server with someone else so what settings do i need to adjust in the helicopter settings.

  18. weapons mp in mod

    Hi in enabling the sniper rifles to gain range when you shoot was not a problem, However we have seemed to lost the range display and headshot sound, as well as being able to destroy barrels. Now all our alterations were made via our mod in the weapons mp folder for each sniper rifle. What would i have to do to get back the damage on the rifles, so that all the things listed above will be reactivated, as well as maintaing the distance on our rifles.

  19. help with kill confirmed

    I've been playing around with differant mods lately for our server. I downloaded the raw x4 files as well as the kill confirmed files. Pretty sure I've got it compile and run correctly because it defaults to FFA. I'm still not sure how to launch the mod gametype. I tried to set my gametype as "kc"?. anyone have an idea?
